Sarah Jestin

Starting her journey into fantasy with Piers Anthony’s Xanth series and Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern when she was around 13 years old, Sarah never looked back. She did a six-year detour studying French literature (for each assigned book she read, she allowed herself one fantasy or science fiction escape) and in 2003, the idea for what became Green Dragon was born.

Meeryle, a blooming chubby cook, and her friend Leena, an apprentice-Healer, never knew how strange and interesting life could be until they met a dragon. Much to their surprise, the creature is not a ferocious carnivore, but a gentle giant caring for a particular aspect of their world, the forest. However, mistrust of anything not human puts the life of the dragon – and the forest in which they live – in danger.
Leena, her best friend Meeryle and Tikid, a Green dragon, travel together to the closest city to introduce dragons to mankind. The dragon’s presence make things difficult for them, but their lack of experience in the face of the oncoming winter almost cost them their lives.

Amidst blowing snow in the mountains, they find a new ally who will guide them in the cold, towards a new people and towards something Leena never knew about herself.
